- Move Field Type in your website’s third party directory:
EX: - /system/expressionengine/third_part… [for system Files]
- /themes/third_party/ [for themes Files] - Go to Control Panel home > Add-Ons > Field types.
- Click ‘install’ on Zeal Color Picker Field.

ZealousWeb’s ‘Zeal color picker Field’ add-on is an easy-to-use tool that allows you to extract color code information, including color models (RGB, HSL, HSV, and CMYK), CSS, and Html color codes. The ‘Zeal color picker Field’ add-on is a user-friendly ExpressionEngine add-on compatible with channel entry, Grid, Fluid, and Relationship Field. It provides valuable output in HEX values.
ExpressionEngine uses channels to store information in any form, be it the text of an article or blog post, an image, and more. The channel entries tag is a primary tag used to show the content you create and edit within your templates. The channel entry tag retrieves and displays your site’s content.
‘Zeal color picker field’ is compatible with the channel entry tag, which is responsible for displaying both multi-entry and single-entry content in the form of several entries on a page or one specific entry. Channel entry tags can display content from various categories, particular days, monthly archives, and more by using available parameters and variables. Channel entries will use information in the URL to access the content of your choice.
Templates on ExpressionEngine are used to contain output information in the form of an entire webpage of your site, a sub-section of your websites such as a header or footer, or a page that can output a variety of information types in RSS, CSS, HTML, XML, etc.
A channel on ExpressionEngine contains a combination of fields and field groups assigned to it. The fields tab includes the channel’s field and field group assignments. The relationship field allows you to connect entries in one channel to those in another and others in the same channel. ‘Zeal color picker field’ add-on is compatible with the relationship field.
The ‘Zeal Color Picker Field’ plugin for ExpressionEngine enables you to create, adjust, and experiment with colors. The Zeal Color Picker Field plugin allows you to pick a color value for a color property.
A fluid field refers to a collection of fields giving the author control over the structure of their content while ensuring that correct design elements are used in the final output. The Grid Field offers a way to group fieldtypes in repeatable rows, which can be helpful when you wish to group a subset of data in your channel entry form with varying rows. The 'Zeal color picker field' add-on is equipped with features that enable you to access output in HEX values.
Follow below steps to install Zeal Color Picker Field
EE2:
- Download and Extract ZIP file of the module. (We recommend to use the latest version.)
- Copy Zeal_Color_Picker_Field > EE2 > system > third_party > zeal_color_picker folder to “Your Site > system > expressionengine > third_party” Folder.
- Copy Zeal_Color_Picker_Field > EE2 > themes> third_party> zeal_color_picker folder to “Your Site > themes > third_party” Folder.
- Login to backend panel with Super admin credentials.
- Go to “Add-Ons > Modules” and Install Zeal Color Picker Field module.
EE3:
- Download and Extract ZIP file of the module. (We recommend to use the latest version.)
- Copy Zeal_Color_Picker_Field > EE3 > system > user > addons > zeal_color_picker folder to “Your Site > system > user > addons” Folder.
- Copy Zeal_Color_Picker_Field > EE3 > themes> user> zeal_color_picker folder to “Your Site > themes > user” Folder.
- Login to backend panel with Super admin credentials.
- Go to “Developer > Add-On Manager” and Install Zeal Color Picker Field module.
EE4, EE5, EE6 and EE7:
- Download and Extract ZIP file of the module. (We recommend to use the latest version.)
- Copy Zeal_Color_Picker_Field > EE4-EE5 > system > user > addons > zeal_color_picker folder to “Your Site > system > user > addons” Folder.
- Copy Zeal_Color_Picker_Field > EE4-EE5 > themes > user > zeal_color_picker folder to “Your Site > themes > user” Folder.
- Login to backend panel with Super admin credentials.
- Go to “Developer > Add-Ons” and Install Zeal Color Picker Field module.
We are not providing support for EE2 and EE3.
